Jean-Baptiste Bréval (1753 – 1823) was a French composer and cellist. His Treatise on the Violoncello, Op. 42, was published in 1804.

The Six Duetts, Op. 10 for violin and cello were published ca. 1795. 

No 1. The first movement is a sonata form, the second a brief Adagio, and the third is marked "Rondo. Gavotta."
No 2. The first movement is a sonata form, the second a brief Adagio, and the third an Aria with 3 variations.
No 3. The first and third movements are sonata forms, and the second is marked Andante Poco Adagio.
